    "Hethersgill Chapel was built of stone and provided seating for 135. It cost of £1100 and opened in 1900. The site had been provided by an unnamed donor and the building cost £629.12.0. The date plaque reads “Wesleyan Methodist Church built 1901”. Permission for the construction of a school here at a cost of £105 was granted in 1902. In 1911 a piece of land between the school and the chapel on which a cottage occupied by the chapel caretaker and a reading room stood was purchased...."
