    "Cast iron post by the A67, in parish of HIGH CONISCLIFFE (DARLINGTON District), SE of entrance to Carlbury Hall, nr Rock Cottage, in the verge, on South side of road. Durham county iron casting, erected by the County Council in the 19th/20th century. Inscription reads:- : {hand} / BARNARD.CASTLE / 11 / (MILES ) : : {hand} / DARLINGTON / 5 / (MILES) : : (DUR)HAM COUNTY : Listed. Milestone Society National ID: DU_DABC05." Photo by R Collier, 2007.
