" House. Mid - late C18. Rendered and painted with painted stone dressings. Scottish slate roof. 2 storeys, 3 bays with single-storey, 1-bay addition to left. Central 6-panelled door. Sash windows with intermediate glazing bars removed. 12-pane sash in 1-bay addition. .... Sir Walter Scott stayed here for a holiday in 1791..."
