  • Description

"Believed to be one of the oldest surviving pubs in Carlisle, "Joiners Arms" was first recorded on 20 September 1785, but may have been trading for some 40 years before that date. It came under State management in August 1916 and returned to private ownership in 1973. Still trading - note the two plaques to the right of the main entrance and see: http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5205886 ." Photo by The Carlisle Kid, 2016.
