The parish is centred on Penruddock Village and includes the outlying areas of Kirkbarrow, Highgate, Hutton John, Stoddah, Troutbeck, Springfield, Whitbarrow and Beckses....All the locality covered by this plan lies within the Ullswater ward of Eden District Council; it occupies an area of approximately 8 square miles and is made up of 216 households..."
