Regent Street, Blyth

Regent Street is a road in Blyth which forms part of the B1329 route. It runs north from the Market Square onto Hodgson Road, by the Port of Blyth. J Herron and Son Jewellers, located at No. 66 Regent Street, by the junction with Maddison Street, is notable for it's original shopfront. No. 55 Regent Street is The Buffalo Community Centre, it was formerly a public house called the Buffalo Inn (originally a 17th century coaching inn, called the Red Bull, later renamed the Buffalo Inn and rebuilt in 1899).[1] The community group itself, was originally established in 1974 as the Cowpen Quay Community Association.[2]  The street has been heavily altered over time. Parts of the street had been Keelman's Row. There had been 19th century terraced housing along the street; most of which have been demolished since the 1930s.
