Raw, Northumberland


West Raw Farm is located by the River Coquet, about 2½ miles south-east of Rothbury in Northumberland. The hamlet of East Raw is located about half a mile south-east of West Raw, by Forest Burn. In the past the wider area was a township in the ancient parish of Rothbury.

RAW, a township, in the parish and union of Rothbury, W. division of Coquetdale ward, N. division of Northumberland, 2½ miles (S.E. by E.) from the town of Rothbury; containing 38 inhabitants. It is the property of the Duke of Northumberland. The river Coquet passes on the north-east.

Not to be confused with The Raw (farm) which is about 9 miles west of West Raw. Presumably there is a link between them.
