Petteril Green


Petteril Green is a hamlet in Cumbria, located about 7 miles north of Penrith. It is situated on the east banks of the River Peteril. The farmhouse, stables and barns here date from the early 19th century (listed buildings on the National Heritage List for England). There are also earthwork remains of a Romano-British farmstead here, identified by aerial photographs and confirmed by limited excavation, along with an associated field system and two trackways. Petteril Green is part of Hesket Civil Parish and is in the Westmorland and Furness Council area.
