Partridge Nest (farm), Bardon Mill

Partridge Nest farm and cottage are located near the south bank of the River South Tyne, about half mile WNW of Beltingham. The farmhouse here dates from the late 18th century, and was extended in the 19th century. The farmhouse was built with re-used material, probably from Willimontswick and incorporates 16th century wooden beams.[1] In Whellan's 1855 directory of Northumberland, Partridge Nest is listed under Ridley Township, in the ancient parish of Haltwhistle - the farmer here at that time was Thomas Wallace.[2] Today, Partridge Nest is part of Bardon Mill Civil Parish. The farmhouse is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England.
