This old milestone is located by the A594 at the junction near Dovenby Craggs farm, about 2 miles north-west of Cockermouth. The milestone was erected in the late 18th or early 19th century, for the Cockermouth-Maryport Turnpike Trust. The milestone is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
