Old Milestone, Allonby


This old milestone, by the road side just north of Christ Church on Allonby Links, dates from the late 18th or early 19th Century. It was for the Wigton-Workington Turnpike road. The milestone is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. An old toll gate house is located at the west end of Allonby.
