Old Milestone, A65, Tearnside

There is an old 19th century milestone on the A65 road, north of Tearnside. It is a triangular carved stone with a pivot benchmark on the top of the milestone. It is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. In July 2023, the milestone was recorded as being knocked over with some damage to it's apex, with part of the inscription is missing (The Milestone Society).
