Old Fire Station, Warwick Street, Carlisle

The Old Fire Station is a music, comedy and arts venue located at the corner of Warwick Street and Peter Street in Carlisle. The venue opened in 2015, following conversion of the former fire station.

Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service had been based here on Warwick Street since 1940, having moved from a station on Spring Gardens Lane 1898-1940 (now demolished). Before that, a Volunteer Fire Brigade Station had opened in Carlisle in 1885 (Junction Street?). The fire station here on Warwick Street closed in 2012, when it was replaced by Carlisle East Community Fire Station (in Harraby) and Carlisle West Community Fire Station (in Raffles). The old fire station building was converted into a new arts centre.
