Northern Goldsmiths

Nos. 85 to 89, Westgate Road in Newcastle, is a former Northern Goldsmith's shop, warehouse and office, built c1910 in Baroque Revival style. It is located on the corner of Westgate Road and Clayton Street West. The shop's distinctive clock with a gold gilded female figure was added in c1932, and the shopfront itself was remodelled in c1960.[1] The former goldsmiths on Westgate Road is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. There is another Northern Goldsmiths on Blackett Street, featuring a similar gold clock.
