Newlands Beck


Newlands Beck is a river in Cumbria; Newlands Valley is considered to be amongst the most picturesque areas of the Lake District. Along with River Derwent, Newlands Beck feeds into Bassenthwaite Lake. The outflow of the lake continues as the River Derwent. The catchment area of Newlands Beck is 50.4km2 and is 33.2km long.[1] The main tributaries of Newlands Beck are Far Tongue Gill, Near Tongue Gill, Lewthwaite Gill, Parrocks Gill, Coledale Beck, Yewthwaite Gill, Stonycroft Gill, Rigg Beck, Scope Beck and Keskadale Beck.
