The Manor House Hotel is located off Crown Street in Cockermouth. It was originally built in the early 19th century as a home for Thomas Wilson (1791-1857), hat manufacturer. Known as the "Grecian Villa" the building later hosted a museum and was once a County Fire Office for Cumberland. The Greek-Revival style building is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
