Linthorpe Community Primary School

Linthorpe Community Primary School is located on Roman Road in Linthorpe, Middlesbrough. The school has about 730 pupils aged 2 to 11. In January 2004 it became a primary school, merging what had been Linthorpe Infant School (ages 3 to 7) and Linthorpe Junior School (ages 7 to 11). The school converted to an academy, with the The Legacy Learning Trust, in July 2018.

The school was originally built in 1874 as Linthorpe Road School, designed in a Neo-Gothic style by architect W.H. Blessley (Middlesbrough).  It was built to educate up to 300 children, but as the population grew, a new wing was needed, which opened in November 1912. The original wing is the only remaining Victorian school premises in Middlesbrough serving its original purpose. The school building is on the Local list of buildings, structures, parks, gardens and open spaces of special local architectural or historic interest in Middlesbrough ('Local List').
