Leamside


Leamside is a village in County Durham it is located immediatetly west of Rainton Gate and West Rainton and 2 miles south west of Houghton-le-Spring. The village was associated with the railway and give its name to the Leamside Line, the old main line running up the east coast, now disused. Leamside station closed in 1953. The village forms part of West Rainton and Leamside Civil Parish.
