Kirfitt Hall Farm

Kirfitt Hall Farm is located near the east bank of the River Lune, about half mile north-east of Kirkby Lonsdale and half mile south-west of Casterton. The farmhouse is thought to be early 17th with late 17th century remodelling, and has a north-west stair tower and 18th century outbuilding to the south. The farmhouse and attached outbuildings of Kirfitt Hall Farm are Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. There is a suggestion that the stairtower may be an earlier medieval Pele Tower, although this might be a deliberate design feature to invoke an earlier origin to the building. It is said that Henry VIII stayed here when courting Catherine Parr.
