Jubilee Memorial, South Shields


West face carries a medallion portrait of William Wouldhave, the east face one of Henry Greathead. Wouldhave and Greathead are the disputed inventors of the modern first self-righting lifeboat. The north and south faces have reliefs of a shipwreck and the return of the lifeboat.
