Holy Trinity Church, Laygate

Holy Trinity Church in Laygate, South Shields, was built between 1833-1834 by Salvin. Holy Trinity was built to serve the High Shields district of St. Hilda’s parish, and became a separate parish in 1848.[1] Located on Laygate Lane, at its junction with Commercial Road, the church could seat 1,200 people. It was demolished in 1980.[2]
