Hartlaw

Hartlaw (aka Hart Law) is a hamlet in Northumberland located about 4½ miles south of Alnwick and 3 miles north-west of Acklington. Hart Law was a farm and has a 17th century manor house, later used as farm cottages, and more recently rennovated for residential use. The building is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. The garden and paddock walls to south date from the 17th century and are also Grade II listed. Hart Law was part of the township of Hazon in the ancient parish of Shilbottle. Today, Hartlaw is part of Newton-on-the-Moor and Swarland Civil Parish.
