Hadrian Building

The Hadrian Building (formerly known as the King's Road Centre) is located on Kings Road at Newcastle University. It was built 1960-1964 and designed by Sir William Whitfield, who was incidentally a former student of King's College before it became Newcastle University. The building was opened on the 7th March, 1964, by VC Christopher Chataway.[1] The modern building joins on to the older Student's Union Building. The Hadrian Building has extensive open floor space for large conferences and events, and on the lower floor there are break-out/meeting rooms (Bamburgh, Alnwick, Ford and Etal rooms). There is also a cafe/bistro in the building.
