Former Senhouse Arms, Maryport

The former Senhouse Arms, now private residences, is located on the corner of Crosby Street and Eaglesfield Street in Maryport. The building dates from the early 19th century; and was included in Jollie's 1811 Cumberland Guide & Directory, at which time Joseph Banks was listed as innkeeper here. The Senhouse Arms was acquired by the State Management Scheme in 1918 and sold to Greenall Whitley in 1973, the sale included the builders yard at 133-137 Crosby Street. The building is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. It now appears to be two residences (35 Crosby Street and 139 Eaglesfield Street).
