Former Elrington Station

Elrington Station, on the Hexham and Allendale Railway, opened in 1867. In 1926, the station became unstaffed and was renamed Elrington Halt. The station was closed to passengers in September 1930 and completely when the railway line closed on the 20th November 1950. The main station building became a residential dwelling. There is also a former railway cottage.
