Dragons' Heads
A group of 4 carved dragons' heads is located on the lawns to the east of Wallington, and can be seen from the on the approach to the Hall. The carved limestone heads, are of 'Grotesque style', with oriental influence, and probably date from the 16th century. In 1760, they were brought from Bishopsgate, London, as ballast in one of Sir Walter Blackett's colliers! They were moved to their present position in 1928. The dragon's heads are Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England.
