Denton Burn (stream)

Denton Burn is a stream which is a tributary of the River Tyne. It gives its name to the Denton Burn suburb of Newcastle. The burn runs west of, and roughly parallel with Silver Lonnen and Denton Road through the Denton Dene, before flowing into the Tyne at Scotswood.[1] Where Hadrian's Wall crossed Denton Burn a culvert carried the stream through the wall. The burn was more extensively culverted (covered) in the 20th century.
