Church of St Cuthbert, Cliburn

St Cuthbert's Parish Church is located close to the River Leith at the south end of the village of Cliburn. The church dates from the 12th century. It underwent a major restoration and extension from 1886-1887, but retains it's Norman nave and chancel. In porch, there are three inscribed Roman stones, possibly from Bravoniacum (the Roman fort at Kirkby Thore). The church is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
