All Saints Church

All Saints Church is located off Kirkgate in Cockermouth. There has been a church on this site since, at least, the 14th century. The original church was demolished in 1711, and it's replacement was destroyed by fire in 1850. The present building was completed in 1854. The church is a Grade II* listed building on the National Heritage List for England.

The church has links with the Wordswoth family; the poet William Wordworth and his sister Dorothy were baptised here. Their father, John Wordsworth, who died in 1783, is burried in the churchyard at All Saints. He had lived with his family on Main Street in Cockermouth. The stained glass East Window of the church is dedicated to the memory of William Wordsworth.
