Cawledge Viaduct
Cawlege Viaduct was built to carry the Alnwick Branch Line railway over Cawledge Burn. The line, built by Robert Stephenson, for the York, Newcastle & Berwick Railway, opened in 1850. The line closed in 1968, but later was restored as a heritage railway by the Aln Valley Railway Society, who have undertaken significant work to repair and maintain the 7 arched viaduct. The viaduct now carries both the single track heritage railway and a pedestrian/cycle way.
