Burnhope Primary School

Burnhope Primary School is located on Langley Avenue in Burnhope, County Durham. The school has around 100 pupils aged 3 to 11.

In 1894, Whellan's Directory of County Durham noted: "Burnhope Colliery Schools (mixed and infants) are good stone buildings, erected in 1855, by the owners of Burnhope Colliery, and were enlarged in 1876 and 1884. These are now capable of accomodating 333 children, and have an average attendance of 280." The original buildings were later demolished and replaced.
