Bridge on track from Low Angerton to Howlet Hall
There is a substantive stone bridge on the bridleway from Low Angerton to Howlet Hall. It is roughly halfway between the two loactions, and carries a track over a small burn, which flows north, then east, to join the River Wansbeck. The bridge dates from late 18th or early 19th century. It has finely-jointed tooled stone, with a semicircular arch, with a low parapet.[1] The bridge is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England. To the west, along the same track is a stone bridge/culvert, with no parapet, which appears contemporary to this bridge.
