Bitter Beck

Bitter Beck is a small river in Cumbria. It flows roughly westwards for 3½ miles, past Setmurthy Common and Greenland Farm, before joining the River Cocker in Cockermouth.  The Beck is culverted (covered) just east of Kirkgate in Cockermouth, shortly before it's confluence with the River Cocker. There is a public house in Cockermouth called The Bitter End, and also the Bitter Beck Pottery, both named after the beck.
