Berwick Hill, nr Ponetland
Berwick Hil is a hamlet in Northumberland, located about 2 miles nort-east of Pontetland. In medieval times there was a larger settlment here; the village of Berwick Hill was first recorded in the 13th century, and was later given to the monks of Newminster Abbey. Historically, Berwick Hill was a township in the ancient parish of Ponteland. In 1866, Berwick Hill became a civil parish in its own right. Then in 1955, this was abolished and the settlement became part of Ponteland Civil Parish.
