Arthuret

Arthuret is a hamlet, located about half a mile south of Longtown in Cumbria; it had been a larger settlement in Medieval times. Aurthuet was the centre of an ecclesiastical parish and is the location of St Michael's Church and St Michael's Well. Aurthuret gives its name to the Civil Parish of Arthuret. The Battle of Solway Moss was fought here in 1542.
