Whittonstall First School


Whittonstall First School, in the village of Whittonstall, has about 70 pupils aged 3 to 9. The school converted to an academy in 2019, and is part of the Cheviot Learning Trust. In a gazetter of 1848, it was noted that the governors of Greenwich Hospital (which used to own Whittonstall) allowed £15 a year for a master to teach local children.
