Whittingham Memorial Institute (village hall)

The Memorial Institute in Whittingham was built in 1925 as a memorial to those from the area who lost their lives in the First World War. The foundation stone was laid on the 11th June 1924, by Lord Ravensworth, who later officially opened the building on the 13th April 1925. It now serves as the village hall. The hall had a major refurbishment, with funding from the National Lottery, which was completed in April 2009. Whittingham Memorial Institute is a registered charity; the Hall is for the use of the whole community for social, sporting.educational and fund raising purposes.
