West Cornforth Primary School


West Cornforth Primary School is located off the High Street. The school has about 210 pupils aged 2 to 11.[1] The first school in Cornforth had been established by in 1870. This was built by Rosedale and Ferryhill Iron Co. Ltd. and was located near the old quarry. It had a large school room with a Mechanics Institute above it. In 1926 a new school building was opened by the current site.[2] This was replaced by the current school building in October 2014.
