War Memorial, Southwick
The cenotaph in Southwick is located by Sunderland Road, at the east end of Southwick Green. The memorial was unveiled by Lord Londonderry on the 4th of November 1928 to commemorate the local servicemen from the parish who lost their lives in the First World War. It was designed by Walter B. Thomas, architect to the Southwick-on-Wear Urban District Council, and sculpted by Mr J. Wilson Byram of Southwick.[1] Later, the memorial was also dedicated to those lost in the Second World War. The memorial is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
