War Memorial, Middleton-in-Teesdale
The war memorial in Middleton-in-Tees is located on a green in the Horse Market. The granite obelisk was unveiled on the 23rd of October 1921 by Lord Barnard, and dedicated by Reverend W Sumner. The memorial commemorates 35 local servicemen who lost their lives in the First World War. Following the Second World War the names of 10 men who died in that conflict were added.[1] Middleton-in-Tees war memorial is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.
