War Memorial, Kelloe


The war memorial in Kelloe is located in the area between Sharon Avenue and Tate Avenue. The obelisk commemorates 9 local servicemen who lost their lives in the Second World War. The memorial is flanked by two benches, one commemorating the First World War, the other the Second World War. The roll of honour for Kelloe, including the names of those who lost their lives in the First World War, is located in St Helen's Church.

- During the First World War the Illustrated Chronicle published photographs of soldiers and sailors from Newcastle and the North East of England. These have been made available by Newcastle Libraries.
