Tyne Steam Shipping Company


The Tyne Steam Shipping Company was founded in 1864 by W. D. Stephens and William Laing. The company built offices at No. 29 Queen Street, Newcastle in 1871. In 1904, it became the Tyne-Tees Steam Shipping Company, following the aquisition of other steam shipping companies in Middlesbrough and Hartlepool.
