Tower Hill, Wooler

Tower Hill in Wooler was the location of Wooler Tower, built in the 16th century in a time when there were frequent attacks from Scotland. The remains of the tower are located at the top of the hill, along with the towns destinctive War Memorial. The war memorial and Tower Hill Gardens were refurbished in 2001 to mark the new millennium.[1]
