Thomas Hodgkin (1831 - 1913)

Thomas Hodgkin (1831 - 1913) was a banker and historian. Hodgkin gave his house in Benwell, Newcastle, to the Royal Victoria School for the Blind in 1894, and at the same time donated it's grounds to the then Urban District of Benwell for use as a public park - later named Hodgkin Park.
