The Magazine


The Magazine is situated by the Town Walls, close to Lions House, in Berwick-upon-Tweed. The building dates from 1749 and is a former gunpowder store for the garrison. The building has heavy buttresses on each side and is enclosed by a stone wall, with a round-arched gateway facing the ramparts.  The Magazine, enclosing wall and entrance are Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England.
