The Lakeland Shepherd, Cockermouth


The Lakeland Shepherd is a statue located by the entrance to The Laureates housing development, off Low Road in Cockermouth. The statue was created by sculptor Chris Kelly and honours the important role that the farming community has played in Cockermouth. The statue was unveiled in May 2017 by unveiled by Nigel Yates of Lovell Homes and John Marrs, chairman of Cockermouth and District Agricultural Society. The work was commissioned by the previous landowner, Bob Slack, of nearby Fitz Park.[1]
