The Gables

The Gables is a large house on Fairbank (road) in  Kirkby Lonsdale. The Tudor-style house was built in 1825, with a larger extension in 1866. The Gables was formerly the Estate Agent's House of the Underley Estate.[1] The disused drive to Underley Hall passes between The Gables and Abbeyfield Lodge opposite. The Gables is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England. Today, the house is part of The Fairbak Society's retirement housing complex.
