The Biosphere


The Biosphere is a specialist life sciences building with labs and offices, located at Newcastle Helix. The building, led by Newcastle City Council, was opened November 2018. "The Biosphere Newcastle is a specialist facility tailored to the commercialisation of life sciences and innovation, research and development in the North East of England’s regional and economic capital. We offer high-quality biology and chemistry laboratories, Grade A offices and conference space." (Biosphere Website)

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria. Co-Curate is a trans-disciplinary project that will open up 'official' museum and 'un-officia'l co-created community-based collections and archives through innovative collaborative approaches using social media and open archives/data.
