Stonethwaite


Stonethwaite is a village in the Lake District, located about 6 miles south of Keswick. The village is situated in the valley of the Stonethwaite Beck, which feeds into the larger valley of Borrowdale. The village is on the Cumbria Way long-distance footpath. Within the village is the Langstrath Country Inn hotel and public house. There is a campsite at Stonethwaite farm; the farmhouse here dates from the 17th century and is a Grade II listed building on the National Heritage List for England. Borrowdale Primary School is located near the village. Stonethwaite is part of Borrowdale Civil Parish and is within the Cumberland unitary authority area.

Co-Curate is a project which brings together online collections, museums, universities, schools and community groups to make and re-make stories and images from North East England and Cumbria.
