Skelwith Fold
Skelwith Fold is a hamlet in Cumbria, located near the head of Windermere (lake), about 1½ mile south-west of Ambleside and ½ mile south-west of Skelwith Bridge. The former manor house here, now 3 houses, dates from c.1725 and is Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England.[1] Old Farm and Old Farm Cottage here are also Grade II listed. At the east of the hamlet is Skelwith Fold Caravan Park. A large house was built here in c.1890 by the Marshall family, but the property was demolished in the 1950s, and the grounds later converted into the caravan park.
